Along with heading 60-million dollar a year companies, Whitaker also is a licensed helicopter pilot and commercial and residential home builder. He is a partner and CEO of the 40-unit Spyglass Ridge condominium project as well as numerous other real-estate developments. Whitaker’s accomplishments have not gone unnoticed. Numerous trade publications have written about the company, which has received numerous awards. Brett was one of 12 former Cal Poly graduates to receive the university’s first Entrepreneurial Leadership Award in 2003. The company has four vice presidents that help run the business. Brett’s brother, Matt Whitaker, who is running the Paso Robles 13th Street Bridge Project; Tony Lewis, who does resource allocation and personnel management; Matt Bousman, who does construction management; and Jim Kelley, who handles equipment and transportation and keeps everything running smoothly. |

Kathy Whitaker is a certified financial planner with a strong background in banking, stocks and securities. She manages the financial aspects of Whitaker Contractors, supervises personnel, maintains the WCI profit sharing plan, and administers health and retirement plans. Because of Kathy’s efforts, Whitaker has been able to achieve an
excellent credit rating. Accounts receivable and accounts payable are
managed effectively. Kathy Whitaker has a reputation of maintaining an
efficient cash flow by taking advantage of early payment discounts. This
has given the company the opportunity to be eligible for low interest
rate financing. |

Matt has worked in every aspect of Whitaker Contractors since he started with the company in 1993 as a laborer and eventually became a heavy equipment operator. In 2002 he became Vice President of the Contract Manager Division. He has credentials in the following areas:

Matt
Whitaker started with the company as a high school student in 1990. He has
worked as a laborer, welder, mechanic, heavy equipment operator and in 2002
earned the title of Vice President of Operations. He has been able to successfully
maintain a safe and productive work environment for employees on the job
site as well as transform the engineer’s drawings into a profitable
project reality.

Jim Kelley - V. P. Equipment |

Jim is responsible for maintenance and repair of equipment, vehicles and tools owned by Whitaker Contractors, Inc. valued in excess of $11 million dollars. He executes equipment, vehicle, and tool purchases. On any given job he will supervise and dispatch company mechanics to repair and maintain equipment in the shop or on location. In addition to these responsibilities, he is also responsible for the following:

Larry Bousman -- Chief Estimator |

Larry
began as the Chief Estimator for Whitaker Construction in 1997. He graduated
from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 1971 with a BS degree in Business Administration
and Accounting.
For over 30 years he has worked in the construction industry. His duties
have included construction management, estimating, bids and proposals.
He has managed both civil engineering projects and general construction
projects. |
